The Year of Sorrow and the Journey to Taif 🎮

We continue our journey through the noble life of the Prophet with the third installment of the “Light of the Message” series, an interactive, educational historical story that takes children to Mecca during one of the most difficult periods of the Islamic call.

The story begins after some Muslims migrated to Abyssinia, where we learn about the years of boycott and siege in the valley of Abu Talib. We then move on to the “Year of Sorrow,” which saw the deaths of Abu Talib and Lady Khadijah, may Allah be pleased with her, and the profound impact their loss had.

The journey continues to Ta’if, where we learn about the rejection and harm faced by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, as well as his noble stance of mercy, patience, and hope for the guidance of the people.

Through six 3D cinematic scenes, historical settings inspired by Mecca and Taif, interactive camera movements, and simple Arabic narration, children discover the meanings of patience, loyalty, compassion, and steadfastness in the truth.

The events are presented in an educational style that respects the sanctity of the Prophet’s biography, without depicting the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ or the angels, while referencing historical sources and accounts where there are differences of opinion.

A moving journey that teaches children that hope does not end with adversity, and that compassion is one of the greatest values we learn from the life of our noble Prophet ﷺ.
